List of Blood Test Codes

  • FBE: Full blood examination. This blood test checks the hemoglobin level and the blood cells are checked under the microscope.
  • MCHC: This blood test is the measure of the concentration of hemoglobin within a red blood cell.
  • U and Es: This blood test refers to urea and electrolytes. This blood test is done to measure kidney function.
  • LFTs: This blood test is done to know the function of liver representing liver function tests. It identifies the damage done by infections such as hepatitis or by certain drugs or toxins such as alcohol. In this test, the albumin and protein levels are measured and the albumin levels fall gradually to low levels with chronic illnesses.
  • HDL/LDL: The HDL cholesterol is protective and is right to see higher level of it, while LDL is the cholesterol appearing in the coronary artery disease and is best to see at low levels.
